I’M GORNGRIS KOSITSAKUL

HELLO GUYS!

(GORN)

18 Years Old—Oundle School UK

With a strong passion in cooking, sports, and music, I aspire to channel my enthusiasm into building a career in the Business/Finance sector.

KNOW ME

I am at a UK boarding school where Business related courses weren't available to 9-10th grade students. Therefore, I decided to use extracurricular opportunities to explore my interests and business pathways.

KNOW ME

PROJECTS

KHAO LAM RESEARCH

Innovating Thai ‘Khao Lam’, I created a DIY version with export potential to increase its global popularity. Partnering with Chulalongkorn University, I perfected the process to retain its authentic flavor while solving market challenges. The product's recipe has now been patented.

I established a company and brand to market my patented, innovative version of Thai ‘Khao Lam.’ It is now sold at King Power duty-free shops across Thailand, including airports, following a successful business plan presentation.

KHAO LAM FOR THE COMMUNITY

As winner of the Exceptional Young Entrepreneur award from the British Chamber of Commerce, I was a guest speaker at Saensook municipality's 'Seminar on Local Product Development,' sharing my journey of transforming a traditional dessert into a modern, accessible version.

SCHOOLVENIRS BUSINESS FOR THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP COMPETITION

My friends and I formed a team and a functioning business to compete in Peter Jones' Tycoon entrepreneurship competition, where we designed and produced school-customised souvenirs using recycled wood and old rugby balls. We sold them on our website and submitted a business plan and evaluation video as part of the competition.

BETTER LIFE, BETTER LI
https://www.better-li.com/

This project supports Thai SMEs by promoting their unique products and unseen tourist destinations. The project builds brands, collaborates with designers, and expands global market access with help from EXIM Bank and DITP, aiming to improve livelihoods and opportunities in Li and beyond.

RESEARCH: DATA ANALYTICS IN FOOTBALL

To develop my interest in the intersection between sports, specifically football, and academics, I wrote two research papers. One under the Extended Project Qualification at school, and the other a more empirical based study I conducted independently using larger data sets and analysis through the Stata software.

INTERNSHIPS

1.
JP MORGAN BOURNEMOUTH

JPMorganChase Think Ahead Program at the Bournemouth Campus (Selected through application process)

WHAT DID I DO?

As a team, we had the task of creating a bank that would be operating in 25 years time. Our bank "Fusion" focused on investing client's deposits into small businesses in developing countries to gain returns. I ran financial analysis to invest simulated client capital into businesses and decided on our potential locations. In addition, we underwent training in various departments in order to experience the environment of the banking industry.

2.
INTERNSHIP AT EXIM (EXPORT AND IMPORT BANK OF THAILAND 1-26 JULY 2024 )

WHAT DID I DO?

Interning at the Export studio department, I learned about the 8 steps to exporting and the requirements that locals need to have in order to approach banks. I completed a business model canvas to show how I plan to solve the issue of small SMEs not having the resources to export. To develop my knowledge, I attended events related to sustainability, and the SME expo where I got to know many similar organisations and potential exporters.

3.

WHAT I LEARNED?

In such a short period of time, I was able to see how one of Thailand's best wealth management and investment bank operate. I learned about the various careers in financial services, the role of an economist, and the impacts of Artificial Intelligence on the industry.

4.
LGT SECURITIES (THAILAND) NEXT GENERATION BOOTCAMP

WHAT I LEARNED?

I learned about the basics of investment as part of financial literacy: 3 pillars of wealth, the stock market, and risk management. To test our knowledge, we competed in a financial market simulation where we had to adapt our portfolios to certain global events. We also had a talk on sustainability: the world in 2050.

5.
INTERNSHIP AT CHONBURI FOOTBALL CLUB IN THAILAND

WHAT DID I DO?

During the internship, I learned about the ins and outs of the marketing side of the sports business. I also helped the club with their engagement with international audiences by conducting a scoop interview with their new signing, Benjamin Davis with Thai translation on the club's Youtube Channel.

SUMMER CAMPS

1.
CTY (CENTER FOR TALENTED YOUTH) BY JOHN HOPKINS UNIVERSITY

“THE MATHEMATICS OF MONEY” SUMMER 2022

In this course, I learned how math is used in real-life financial decisions, such as calculating interest, understanding taxes, and managing budgets. I explored topics like loans, savings, and the price-to-earnings ratio of stocks. One of my favorite projects was creating a poster about my future life plans, where I estimated the costs of things like housing, education, and travel. This helped me understand how much money I’ll need and how to plan wisely for the future.

2.
BBAY ( BERKELEY BUSINESS ACADEMY FOR YOUTH)

“HIGH SCHOOL ENTREPRENEURSHIP I” SUMMER 2023

During the selective two-week summer program, I learned core principles of entrepreneurship from faculty and current business students, including design thinking, finance, marketing, and competitive analysis. In teams, we developed our own startup business plans and practiced pitching through activities like the “Bear Cave,” leading up to a final competitive pitch to a panel of judges. Throughout the program, I also had the chance to explore the Berkeley campus and get a feel for university life.

3.
WHARTON GLOBAL YOUTH PROGRAM - UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA

“ESSENTIALS OF FINANCE” SUMMER 2023

This selective program was inspired by Wharton’s undergraduate finance curriculum, with lectures from faculty and PhD students covering key personal and corporate finance concepts like time value of money, risk, capital structure, and valuation models. We learned to use Excel to model investments and apply these concepts through real-world case studies. Working in small teams, we completed analysis projects, including my favourite, an ESG board presentation on a randomly assigned company. The program gave me a strong foundation in finance and insight into how financial principles are applied in both personal and business contexts.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

MUSIC PRODUCTION

I enjoy making music using the Logic Pro software. I take Music Production lessons at school where I learn new techniques which has enabled me to explore various ways in which music can be utilised: the relaxation music for stressed pupils, the leaver's ball fireworks music, as well as songs I passionately produce in my free time.

BBAY AMBASSADOR
(BERKELEY BUSINESS ACADEMY FOR YOUTH AMBASSADOR BASED IN UK & THAILAND)

After attending the summer program at Berkeley, I was honoured to be selected as an ambassador for the program in both the UK and Thailand. In this role, I gave talks at my school to share my experience and highlight the program's offerings, engaged with interested families beyond the school community, and actively recruited like-minded individuals to apply for BBAY.

LEADERSHIP SOCIETY

As a member of the leadership society at Oundle, I was able to hear from experienced leaders from various backgrounds and ask insightful questions. In addition, I participated in group discussions where we commented on different leadership qualities that we learned about in the talks. This society has supported my goal of becoming a great leader today and in the future.

DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARDS (DofE)

I have successfully completed all three levels of the Duke of Edinburgh's (DofE) Award—Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Each level challenged me to develop in areas such as volunteering, physical fitness, and skills, with increasingly demanding expeditions. The Gold Award, the highest level, required an additional residential project, further honing my leadership, perseverance, and personal growth.

JUNIOR SPORTS COACHING
(Rugby, Field Hockey, Cricket)

At school, I volunteer to coach 11-13 year-olds in rugby, hockey, and cricket during their sessions and matches. This role has developed my leadership skills as an older pupil and taught me to manage varying skill levels and behaviours while helping children succeed in sports.

COMBINED CADET FORCES (CCF)

Having been a part of Oundle School's Royal Navy in the Combined Cadet Forces, I learned a lot about ships and basic skills that first level officers are required to know. Teamwork was also something I was able to improve on through raft building activities, military training, and learning to complete marching drills together.

SCHOOL TOUR REPRESENTATIVE

I am proud to have represented the school when taking prospective parents on a tour around the school to give them insights on school life from a student's perspective.
